Sylvia.....
Married to Moon in Spain (but, as is Spanish culture, she did not take his surname); died in the couple's orchard in Spain in 2003 (where she bled to death following a fall from a tree and hit her head on a chainsaw). Had a very sad upbringing and was abused by her father from the age of 11. When she was 15 she became pregnant by her father who disowned her as soon as he was aware she was expecting his child. She was out on the streets and ended up in Pena Grande, a notorious institution in Spain where unmarried pregnant girls were sent. In later years she became aware of rumours and actual testimonies that children had been illegally trafficked from this institution over a number of years and during the time she was there. Her own baby was stillborn, or so she was told, but she started to have suspicions that this might not actually be the case. Before she passes away, she regales her harrowing experience to Moon who vowed to help her in any way he could to search for the child, if indeed he / she was alive. Following her death, Moon wanted to fulfil the pledge he made. Sylvia was a vegan, and a passionate protagonist for animal rights and vehemently against animal cruelty, the use of animals for research, animal products in cosmetics etc. Their wedding could be considered 'woke', forward thinking for the time !
Sylvia's passion for animals is exemplified in one of her hobbies which was a 'twitcher'. She would often spend days / weekends bird watching and managed to obtain some very interesting footage of peregrine falcons (and their babies) from a webcam she installed in a high office block in London (NB this footage is available on you-tube).
