Maeve 1953-2023....
Intelligent, slight Irish accent but no rough edges, educated. Has five grown up children plus one adopted child several years younger and an even younger Chinese girl who is part of the family but unofficially. Their first child (Jon, known affectionately as 'Little Jon' and name most likely changed on adoption) born out of wedlock in Ireland and not known about by the rest of the children. Maeve had been sent to a Mother and Baby home in Cork and stayed there for four months before giving birth. She was treated very badly, it was basically a work house, and she was given no medication or pain relief during her labour, delivering a breached birth. Dave was not allowed anywhere near but the couple managed to stay in touch (with the help of 'go between' Moira, Maeve's younger sister). Moira helped Dave and Maeve run away to England one cold, wet and windy night....they managed to get to the channel and onto the overnight ferry (which somehow Moira managed to pay for). Deeply affected Maeve. Despite trying to find their son over the years, they haven't been successful and this upsets them greatly. Every year on Jon's birthday they light a candle in the local church and have a secret cry together. Very family focussed and strong bond with her husband. Engaged June 2nd 1973, Married 4th November 1973. Her engagement has been pivotal to her life and she has cherished it fondly over the years. It was her dream ring that she would drool over in the jeweller's shop when first moving to Seven Kings in Essex. Dave and her would go to Mass every Sunday (in the local St Cedds Roman Catholic Church in Goodmayes) and afterwards she would look longingly in the jewellers next door. Maeve is the emotional glue of the family and has complex maternal energy , both nurturing and exhausted. She is practical as well as emotional in her kindness (for example, finding people jobs, housing etc) but is often betrayed or unappreciated by those she helps. They have two dogs, Fenix and Shaweetie. Maeve went on to study for a degree in Psychology and also qualified for a Masters. She embarked on a career as a psychotherapist and was promoted several times until she became Director of the private practice where she worked. They both worked incredibly hard and had a comfortable lifestyle in Essex where they lived until they died, Dave first and then Maeve later the same year (2023).
